[press release] Dutch violinist Zlata Brouwer is Entrepreneur of the Year 2011

Under great applause the Dutch Chamber of Commerce has reached out the award for Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 to violinist Zlata Brouwer with her company Zlata Bowed Instruments (www.vioolspelen.nl).
Zlata won the competition by far with 47% of the votes of the audience and 50% of the jury votes. ‘I saw the meter running and I was very surprised! One always hopes to win… and now I have! I am very happy!’
Zlata hopes that the award will create ‘more visibility for my company, myself, my mission and above all bowed instruments in general.’
According to the jury Zlata had a strong presentation, is pure and has a clear vision for the future. ‘She sticks to her core business, bowed instruments. She has made from something old (the closed market in bowed instruments) something totally new. She has great knowledge of her business and is not afraid sharing it. This makes her a strong entrepreneur. She operates internationally. Holland is too small for Zlata!’
Zlata is now planning to open franchise shops all over the world and still gives lots of concerts as a violinist.

Reiki and violin

Last Thursday I have received my Reiki Master initiation. As a sceptic I got to know reiki about a year ago, expecting nothing. It started with a chakra meditation that really impressed me. That convinced me to do a reiki course. Before I knew, I followed more courses, read a lot of books, until the master initation last Thursday. Are you a sceptic too? You should try it!

I am working on a service that combines reiki with violin playing. You can read more about that (in Dutch) on my Reiki page.

Currently I am writing a series of solo violin compositions around the seven chakra’s.

Comprovisations

Most things I think to invent appear to be already invented. So are comprovisations. I tried to describe my way of writing down improvisations in a flexible way… Compositions that can be improvised on and that are born from improvisations… Or improvisations born from compositions… And there it is: comprovisations. But it appeared to be invented already

The next step

For some months I feel a big change coming up… I am working on my first CD and am writing a lot of new music, compositions for solo violin… Ultimate musical freedom. The fast growth of my business Zlata Bowed Instruments surprises me every month and sometimes worries me. I am forced to develop myself real fast as an entrepreneur to go into new phases, to a next level. Exciting, but scary, time to leave the comfort zone…

My ideal is to have more people listen and play bowed instruments and classical music and make the world sound better. All different things I do have the same underlying ideal. I am starting to realise that they all can become bigger when they are connected. I know now that I have to form a new business model to connect all things and to reach more and more people world wide.

The next question is… How?

Passionate about… Addicted to… violin play!

Zlata Brouwer MSc (1985) is a Czech-Dutch performing violinist. She has a free, innovative and creative approach to classical music. Zlata combines classical music with tango, jazz, gypsy and her own improvisations. She plays classical acoustic violin as well as electric violin. Zlata plays fanatically violin since the age of 7.

Zlata is 1st violinist in the Las Vegas String Orchestra, violinist in the Roaring Duo and studies at the Schumann Akademie.

She lives in Hilversum, the Netherlands, and owns an atelier that sells and rents bowed instruments: Zlata Bowed Instruments. She writes a monthly ezine about bowed instruments and has developed several e-courses for violin playing.

Zlata loves horse riding, motorbike riding, her cat Sissi, good food and wine, to be massaged, reiki, meditation and is member of the Dutch liberal party. Besides violin, she studied business controlling at Nyenrode University.

Reacties op improvisaties

“Ik heb jouw improvisaties diverse keren beluisterd en hoe vaker ik er naar luister des te mooier ik ze vind.” – Koos A Oosterhof

“Ik vond het resultaat al heel indrukwekkend. Een solo met een zo specifiek instrument als een viool (anders dan piano, gitaar, …) is waarschijnlijk een van de moeilijkste opgaven.” – Eric M
